Health Occupations Stations are engaging activities for high school Anatomy and Physiology or Health Occupations classes. This Reproductive System set consists of seven stations that students will rotate through as they learn about various aspects of health occupations and common diseases, treatments, and procedures associated with the male and female Reproductive Systems.

Here are some highlights of this Health Occupations Stations activity:

  • The topics are suitable for high school Anatomy and Physiology students or Health Occupations students.
  • Each station will take approximately 5-7 minutes for students to complete.
  • Colorful station cards and icons will help students quickly find their way through the stations and their place on the handout.
  • Discussion and extension ideas are included for teachers who would like to go into more depth.

What Stations are Included?

Each Health Occupation Stations activity is focused on one body system. The stations are:

  1. Medical Experts – Students will learn about the education requirements, types of patients or diseases treated, working conditions, and salary of one selected physician specialty.
  2. Expedition into Allied Health Careers – This station will teach students about the training, duties, and salary of an allied health career.
  3. Explore other Careers in Healthcare – This station provides a look into a subspecialty or unique career related to one of the careers at stations 1 or 2, or a nursing career.
  4. Execute a Procedure – Students will perform a simulation of a medical procedure or the operation of a medical device.
  5. Expand your Vocabulary – Students will explore root words, prefixes, suffixes, or abbreviations to become more familiar with medical terminology.
  6. Extraordinary Connections – At this station, students will discover the connections between body systems, comorbidities associated with certain conditions, demographics, or the relationships between body, mind, spirit, and emotions.
  7. Patient Example – This station provides an opportunity for students to follow a real-life example of a patient and their journey through a disease and/or the healthcare system.

  5. Expand your Vocabulary: Medical Terminology about the Reproductive System
  6. Extraordinary Connections: Demographics and Prostate Cancer

Teacher Prep and Set-Up:

  • Make copies of the student handout for each student.
  • Print out the station information and instruction pages for each station.
  • Print out and prepare the station table tents in color or black and white. These will work with all Health Occupation Stations activities, so you only have to do this once.

  • On the day of the activity, divide students into 7 groups and let them go!
