Carla Brooks is the author of all Science Island educational resources and blog posts on this site. All rights are reserved by the author and are protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Copying any portion of www.scienceislandeducation.com, the resources in the shop, or free resource library, articles, or videos and sharing them with others or on the Internet is strictly forbidden.

Copyright Statement

My resources, especially those containing images, constitute a collective work as defined by the US Copyright Office because the materials (photos, images, text, etc.) have been selected, coordinated, and arranged in such a way that the resulting work constitutes a new work.

The images in my resources are either:

  1. Original images, created by me, Carla Brooks (Science Island). These images may be used by the purchaser in his or her own classroom. They are not to be shared with others or posted on the internet.
  2. Purchased for commercial use by Science Island from a company such as Bigstock Photos or Deposit Photos. These images have been locked onto slides or included in PDF format on documents and are not to be removed for any purpose.
  3. Obtained under a Creative Commons license which provides legal sharing as long as license conditions are followed and proper attribution to the creator is given. I only use images with CCO, BY, and BY-SA licenses. A summary of creative commons licenses can be found HERE.
  4. Found in the public domain. These images include links to their original source either as a hyperlink or in the notes section of the PowerPoint slide or in the credits section of the Read This First document of the resource. You are free to go to the original source and use these public domain images without permission.
